The Dean Students Office serves as a pivotal hub dedicated to fostering a seamless and enriching campus life experience for students. Its operational framework comprises two primary divisions, namely the Hostel & Mess (H&M) and the Student Gymkhana. The H&M section undertakes a central role in controlling and managing the operations of all 10 hostels, including facilities, mess facilities, and canteens. The Hostel & Mess division functions as a key-player in ensuring the well-being and comfort of students residing on campus.
The Student Gymkhana section is entrusted with the responsibility of coordinating and facilitating a diverse array of recreational activities for the student body. The Gymkhana section is dedicated to enriching the overall student experience by orchestrating a spectrum of recreational activities. These activities serve as a catalyst for holistic development, promoting physical fitness, social engagement, and the cultivation of diverse talents and interests among the student body.
All the privileges are extended to bonafide students of IIT Mandi encompassing the utilization of resources provided by the institute, subject to stipulated terms and conditions. These terms and conditions serve as a framework to govern the responsible and equitable use of the facilities and amenities. Besides, event specific rules/T&Cs, IIT Mandi has a common Code of conduct for all students of the institute. All students are needed to abide by the Institute code of conduct.

Q: By what time we should be available there on 2nd August or early? A: The formal welcome of students has been scheduled on 3rd August, 2024. However, hostel allotment and issuance of ID Cards would be 2nd August onwards. So, it is up to parents/students only about their arrival at Mandi/IIT Mandi on or before 2nd August. |

| Q: Will the student get Hostel allotted on the same day i.e on 2nd August? Do we have option to choose room or its first come first serve basis? A: Allotment of hostels/rooms would take place on the same day of arrival of students to IIT Mandi campus. It is to be taken care by the Office of the Dean Students only. |

| Q: In the institute guest house, is there accommodation available for parents also and for how many days? A: IIT Mandi has its own guest house with limited no. of capacity. However, parents can book their stay in advance by communicating to the guest house directly at managergh@iitmandi.ac.in, as per availability. |

| Q: From where can we buy mattress, blanket, bucket and other necessary items? A: A student can buy all essential items from one of the vendors who are available at the institute campus. |
