The institute campus provides hostel facility to its students who wish to stay on campus during their academic session. There is total 10 hostels which accommodate students on the campus. The hostel facility aims to offer a comfortable and conducive environment for the students to study and relax. In every hostel, each student is provided with a bed, a mattress, a pillow, a blanket, and a bedsheet. A table-chair set is available to every student in his/her room. The table-chair set is also equipped with a lamp and a power socket. Every hostel has a study room for the students who want to study in a quiet and focused atmosphere. The study room has desks, chairs and bookshelves. The study room is open 24 hours a day and has free Wi-Fi access. Every hostel has washing machine for the students to wash their clothes. The washing machines are located in a common laundry room. The students can use the washing machines for free.
Besides above said basic and necessary amenities, every hostel has a common room for the students who want to socialize and have fun. The common room has a television to pass their leisure time. The common room also has recreational facilities such as board games, card games, chess, carrom etc. Indoor games are also available in most of the hostels for the students who want to exercise and enjoy sports. The indoor games include foosball and table tennis.
In spite of these, all the hostels are supervised by the hostel warden and the hostel caretakers, who ensure the safety and discipline of the students.

IIT Mandi has hostels at both the campus i.e. North Campus and South Campus. Accommodation at IIT Mandi tries a lot to make you feel at home. There are 10 hostels including 7 boys’ hostels and 3 girls’ hostels in the campus. Each hostel has students from all years and disciplines. The hostels are named after lakes of India and they are Renuka, Chandrataal, Gaurikund, Beaskund, Surajtaal, Suvalsar, Nako, Manimahesh, Parashar, and Dashir.
Hostel Facilities: All rooms are equipped with basic furnishings such as a cot and almirahs to seat our luggage and can be decorated as we like them to be. Every hostel has an excellent Wi-Fi connection and LAN facility available. They have all the needed facilities like washing machines, and drinking water supply on each floor. The facilities also include Hostel Bed, Cupboard, Study table, Study chair, Microwave oven, Iron box, Induction, Electric kettle, Water cooler, Heaters, Washing machines, Refrigerator, and TV.
Hostel details at North Campus: There are 5 hostels in north campus and their details are as follows:
4 Boys hostels: Beaskund (04 blocks), Dashir (03 blocks), Surajtaal (03 blocks), Suvalsar (03 blocks)
1 Girl hostel: Gaurikund (04 blocks)
Hostel details at South Campus: There are 5 hostels in the south campus, and their details are as follows:
3 Boys hostels: Manimahesh (1 block), Nako (3 blocks), Prashar (4 blocks)
2 Girls' hostels: Renuka (3 blocks), Chandrataal (2 blocks)
Mess:IIT Mandi have Mess facility for students at both North and South Campus. There are three mess namely Cedar (D1), Maple (D2) and Gulmohar (D3) Mess facility at South campus of the Institute.
In the North Campus Pine, Oak, Alder and Peepal Mess facility are available. There are Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner facility available in all the mess.
Canteen: IIT Mandi has Canteens in both the campus.There is Bulbul Canteen in South Campus. In the North Campus there are Monal canteen, Amul Canteen, Drongo Canteen, Kiosk Canteen and One Bite Canteen facility available.
