In the Academic session 2026, more than 700 hundred undergraduate students have joined IIT Mandi. The batch is comprises of students from Bachelor of Science in Chemical Science, BTech in 15 disciplines including CSE, Data Science, Agricultural and Bio-engineering. 60 students from integrated MBA (iMBA) is also a part of this batch. The Orientation session was started with introductory address of the Honourable Director IIT Mandi. He elaborated running courses in IIT Mandi, and also talked about three new courses which have introduced from the current semester. He also introduced Deans and Chairpersons of 9 schools of IIT Mandi to new joiners, parents and guests. His address was followed by Dean Academic who briefed about the courses and academic structure of under graduate courses. Dean Students in his presentation showed the overall picture of Students amenities and facilities in the institute. His presentation was followed by the presentation of the Chief Warden, who presented the hostels structure, rules and regulations and also various types of committees which works in favour of students.
