Student Gymkhana

Students are the life and soul of all educational enterprise. At the IIT Mandi, Students have the unique opportunity of not just witnessing an Institution in the making but participating in the making as well. Winston Churchill once said that we shape our Institution and these in turn shape our lives. The heady experience of joining hands with the Director, the faculty and staff in deciding almost all aspects of campus life and in evolving a culture so unique to the IIT of the Shivaliks is part of what makes our life at IIT Mandi unique!
Student Gymkhana , IIT Mandi was established in 2011 and since then it has been instrumental in the growth and development of the Institute and its students through its elected secretaries. Student Gymkhana,IIT Mandi consists of eight secretaries all organizing collective student activities in their respective spheres.The Student Gymkhana has its office in "The Lounge" which is located in the Central Mess.
Gymkhana constitutes of four societies currently which consist of different student clubs.

  • Technical Society

  • The Technical Society is headed by Technical Affairs Secretary.It has seven clubs under it as of now. Each club has its own activities and funding for giving students exposure to various technical activities through events both within and outside the Institute. The major events for Technical council are Inter IIT Tech Meet, Avishkar and Utkarsh

  • Cultural Society

  • The Cultural Society is headed by Cultural Secretary.It has five clubs under it as of now. Each club has its own activities and funding for giving students exposure to various activities through events both within and outside the Institute.

  • Sports Society

  • The Sports Society is headed by Sports Secretary.It consists of various sports. Sports society organizes the annual sports fest of IIT Mandi: Rann-Neeti.

  • Literary Society

  • The Literary Society is headed by Literary Secretary.It has two clubs under it as of now. Each club has its own activities and funding for giving students exposure to various activities through events both within and outside the Institute.This society publishes the institute magazine "Vivaan" in every semester.
